How long will each lesson last?

I book sessions on a weekly basis. It’s your choice whether the lessons last for 30 minutes, one hour, an hour and a half or two hours.

What will be taught?

I will do an assessment in the first session, then use this to find the gaps in their learning and plan for future lessons. If you would like me to focus on a particular area in English or Maths, I’d be more than happy to do that. Each session will include learning objectives from the National Curriculum.

Where will the lessons take place?

Due to my busy tuition timetable, the lessons would take place at my house in Acton (a five-minute walk from Acton Town Station). Alternatively, online tutorials via Zoom can be arranged.

When will the lessons take place?

I will do my best to be flexible and arrange a lesson at a convenient time on weekdays or weekend mornings.

Is online tuition an option?

Yes! Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, I have continued to teach my students online via Zoom and these lessons have proven to be just as effective as face-to-face lessons. I use a desk camera so that the children can see me writing on my mini whiteboard, along with screen sharing/editing via Zoom. Online tutorials certainly encourage the pupils to talk through their ideas/working out, which helps to improve their understanding, consolidate their learning and find their voice.

Online tuition is also convenient for parents as I send the Zoom meeting details in the morning and no travelling is involved. After the lesson, I send feedback via text message.

Will stationery be provided?

Yes. The pupil doesn’t need to bring any stationery to the lesson. I will provide each pupil with a Maths and/or English exercise book, which they should bring to each lesson.

If signing up for online lessons, I can post a Maths and English book to the pupil.

Will homework be set?

I usually do set a small amount of homework so that the pupil can consolidate their learning.

Will feedback be given?

Yes, I will give regular feedback to the pupil. At the end of each lesson, I will give verbal feedback to the adult who collects the pupil. If the lesson is via Zoom, I will either give feedback to a parent/guardian after the lesson or text them an update later that day.

What is the hourly rate?

Prices vary depending on how many pupils attend the session. There is a discounted rate per child for small group tuition. Please contact me for more details about prices.

Please note that if you would like to book small group sessions, you would have to form the group. Group tuition is most effective when the pupils are working at a similar academic level.

If you have any further questions or you would like to make a booking, just send me a message or email e.sbuttoni@hotmail.com and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you.
